A few of us to some extend are familiar with custom copper patina. What it is? In time, metal becomes green and that is not what most clients are looking for finishing their kitchen and bathroom products. Some buyers prefer rustic dark, others light or antique finish. To prevent copper turning green we found the way by using certain sealants.
Some manufactures especially from Asia instead of using more environment friendly techniques use chemicals that we don’t recommend. It is obvious that hammered copper gets dark by ageing but who wants to wait a long time? There is a simple solutions. We use heat to speed up the edging process and then seal the surface making color permanent. Sealing copper is stopping oxidation from occurring.
